MILITARY personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) and Malaysian Army began the Brumal Setia 13/2016 Exercise on Thursday at the Berakas Camp.

Deputy Commander of Land Force Colonel Hj Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan and Malaysian Deputy Chief of Army Lieutenant General Dato’ Seri Panglima Hj Ahmad Hasbullah Hj Mohd Nawawi launched the exercise.

According to a Ministry of Defence (MinDef) press release, this year’s exercise involves units of the RBLF First Battalion and one company from the Malaysian Army’s Royal Malay Regiment, with support from the Royal Brunei Air Force.

“The joint exercise aims to enhance the experience, skills and knowledge of those involved and at the same time, further strengthen military-to-military relations between the two land forces,” MinDef said.

MinDef also said the RBLF commander and Malaysian army chief will precede the closing ceremony for the exercise on September 24, when it will end.
